Dear Society Members and Friends,

As we move into this next chapter of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Canada, I would like to pause and express my sincere gratitude to those who have helped bring our Society to where it is today.

First, I would like to thank our Past President, Dr. Yana Simice, whose leadership was instrumental in establishing a clear vision for the PCDSC. Her dedication and foresight helped shape the Society’s identity and laid the foundation for the growth and momentum we are now experiencing.

I would also like to thank our Board of Directors for their hard work over the past year. Together, we have focused on strengthening governance, refining our processes, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Society. This work is often done behind the scenes, but it has been essential in building a strong and credible foundation.

We have also been fortunate to work alongside Melissa Morrovat and Alison Nash from TouchPoint, whose guidance and expertise have contributed meaningfully to the organizational health of our Society and helped us put structures in place to support future growth while staying true to our values.

We now find ourselves at another pivotal moment in the Society’s journey.

With a clear vision and solid foundation in place, we are entering a phase of activation and collaboration. This next chapter is about opening doors—inviting more members to participate, contribute, and help shape the Society moving forward.

Over the coming year, we will be expanding our communications initiatives and strengthening our educational programming, with the goal of ensuring that you feel supported, informed, and connected in your practice of primary care dermatology.

One of our greatest strengths lies in the diversity of our members—across clinical settings, geographic regions, experience levels, and perspectives. Whether you are early in your career or well established, practicing solo or within a team, every voice brings value and strengthens our community.

We encourage you to get involved in ways that feel meaningful to you: by sharing a clinical pearl, participating in a committee, attending or presenting at a webinar, or engaging in discussion. Every contribution matters.

To help guide our next steps, we will also be launching a member needs and interests survey. Your input will directly inform our priorities and future initiatives. This Society is being built with you, and for you.

As we celebrate our past accomplishments—especially as we approach our 10th Annual Conference—we also look ahead with optimism, purpose, and a renewed commitment to collaboration.

As Helen Keller once said,
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

Thank you for being part of this journey, and for the care you provide every day to your patients and communities. I look forward to building the next chapter of the PCDSC—together.

Warmly,

Nat
